Unemployment Claims Processing

Once Consultech files powers of attorney with the appropriate states the state will direct all claim inquiries to the Consultech address and then Consultech assumes the responsibility of completing and processing all Unemployment Insurance Claims on behalf of its clients. In order to complete these claims most expeditiously many clients choose to electronically transfer the data needed to complete this paperwork. If more information is needed we would contact the client liaison. By Consultech assuming the task of completing and processing claims it eliminates the risk of claims being misdirected as well as eliminates the risk of someone else completing the claim at the client who would not possess the years of experience of utilizing the correct legal terminology when completing such claims. Since in many states just one claim can cost an employer over $10,000.00 a prudent and wise business person would refer these claims to someone well versed on the law.
Unemployment Hearing Representation
Hearings of this nature are due to either a claimant protesting an adverse determination or Consultech protesting an adverse determination. In either case Consultech will determine the best witnesses with first hand knowledge of the circumstances involved in the specific employee separation and then prepare the witness to testify at the hearing. Depending on the state and sometimes the Judge assigned to these hearings, Consultech will arrange these hearings telephonically thus witness need not spend too much time away from their office or travel unnecessarily. In person hearings are at times unavoidable however Consultech will assist its clients every step of the way up to and including sending a Consultech representative as needed.
Employer Tax Services
Every private sector employer is assigned an Unemployment Insurance tax rate which is based on each employer’s experience. Depending on the state an employer can pay over $1,000.00 per employee for unemployment insurance tax. Employers can also pay as little as $50.00 per employee for this tax annually. Consultech’s goal is to assist its clients to realize the lowest rate possible. Claims management is key, however there are additional means such as submitting a prepayment before the annual tax rate is issued by the states. This is as calculation undertaken by Consultech which provides its clients with the amounts necessary to reduce its tax rate (s) for the ensuing year. In effect it’s a small investment so that the return realized by paying at a lower tax rate for one whole year can reap a return of amounts that are five times or greater annually.
There are also options when companies merge or acquire others. Consultech can analyze the impact that these transactions will mean to existing unemployment insurance tax rates. When companies merge or are acquired very often the successor company is required to accept the experience of their predecessor and this can have far reaching cost consequences to the successor. On the other some states offer other options that can realize the successor significant tax savings. Consultech’s job is to present to its clients the best options available under the specific state law that will achieve the greatest tax savings.
Other Consultech services regarding employer tax services are available such as opportunities from forming Joint/Common Accounts among companies that are commonly owned. Not least in importance is the ability of Consultech to project tax rates for their clients.
IRS Employment Tax Representation
Every employer must pay employment taxes and most pay the correct amount however the law is often ambiguous as to what is and what is not reportable for these taxes thus employer’s are at odds with the IRS but the IRS will conduct an audit and will disagree with the employer and issue an assessment which sometimes can be staggering. Consultech is well versed on this area of taxation and is certified to represent employers and put forth the best argument as possible in order for a client to realize a favorable outcome. The favorable outcome could take the form of a rescission of the assessment or a mutual settlement. Over several years Consultech has been most successful in achieving millions of dollars in tax savings in this regard.
